It was once said that you must brush your hair 100 times daily to keep it in good condition, while in fact this is just the opposite. Excess brushing can actually lead to breakage to the hair shaft and is not at all recommended. Hair should only be brushed to detangle it or style it. Never use a brush on wet hair! Rather use a wide toothed comb on wet hair and brush from bottom to top, not from roots to end as this will be painful and cause unnecessary breakage. If you must brush your hair it is best to use a boar bristle brush as this seals the cuticle of the hair and creates shine and distributes the natural oils from roots to ends keeping your hair in tip top shape. So keep the brushing to a minimum and remember don't use a brush on wet hair and don't brush from roots to ends brush ends to roots!
